Queen Margaret College in Wellington is raising funds this year for a 24/7 AED for their school and community. Together with Wellington Free Ambulance and their Heart Beat programme, we are thrilled to be working alongside the college in 2025.

From the College's social media accounts:

" Queen’s Edge kicks off with generosity!

Generosity is one of the key values at QMC, and our new Queen’s Edge extra-curricular programme is embracing it in a big way! Queen of Hearts, a service course led by Service Prefect Maddy Wilson, dedicated to supporting existing initiatives like our partnerships with Wellington Free Ambulance and Who Did You Help Today, while also seeking new ways to make a difference.

One of their first projects? Supporting Embracing Hearts, a charity that donates life-saving automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Co-founder Emma Lawler shared her insights into the vital need for AEDs, and this term, Queen’s Heart will be fundraising to provide a defibrillator not just for QMC, but for our Thorndon community too."
